What is a Cake Smash?

A cake smash session is a fun and playful photoshoot typically done for a baby's first birthday. Your little one gets to explore, play with, and "smash" a cake while we capture adorable moments!

How is the process of a Cake Smash?

We start the session by taking clean pictures (No cake) with different poses. After this, we proceed positioning the cake where baby can do his/her debut :). Depending of the package you can add more to do, like: a change of clothes, the cute (sanitized) mini-tub where they can splash and play. Also, you can add parents and siblings for the cutest memories.

How long does a cake smash session last?

Typically, the session lasts 30-60 minutes, allowing enough time for portraits before the smash and clean-up afterward.

When should I book?

2-3 months prior! We get sold out pretty fast, specially on Saturdays. The session should take place around 11 months of age. With the experience we have found that babies do better and smile more at that age. The closer to the year, the more active and sensitive to new environment they tend to be.

What is the turnaround time?

Turnaround is within15 days after session is done. 5 days to send the proofs and 10 days for the images to be edited after you confirm your selection. During peak season (Sept-Dec) Turnaround is 20-25 days total. You can expedite your gallery to 1 week for $100 if booking last minute.

How do i choose the background?

Whether you want a simple, elegant setup or a fun, colorful theme, we can customize the backdrop to your liking. When booking your session, let us know your preferred theme, colors, or any inspiration photos you have. We’ll work with you to create the perfect setup.

How will I receive my digital images?

We will send your beautiful digital images in a online private gallery. The access to the link will be send to your email with instructions which you should read carefully. Proofs and edited images will be send separately. A computer will be necessary to download your High-Resolutions files.

How is your standard Editing?

We carefully Pre-select the images that will be showcase in your proofing gallery based on our professional standards for Composition, lighting, facial expression and sharpness. Once you choose the images to be edited, we will retouch the followings: Background and floor clean up, blemishes removal, Color and lighting, fly aways.

Baby Allergies & Dietary Restrictions

What if my baby has food allergies?

Your baby's safety is our top priority! If your baby has known allergies, please inform us when booking. We recommend bringing a cake that is safe for your child, or we can help you find a suitable bakery that offers allergy-friendly options.

23. Do you offer allergy-friendly cakes?

If we provide the cake, for $75 extra fee we can arrange allergy-friendly options upon request, such as:

• Dairy-free

• Egg-free

• Gluten-free

• Nut-free

• Vegan

Please let us know at least one week in advance so we can accommodate your needs.

Can I bring my own cake to ensure it's safe?

Absolutely! If your child has allergies or dietary restrictions, we encourage you to bring a cake from a trusted bakery or one you make yourself.

What precautions do you take for allergies?

• We ensure the studio/setup is clean and free from cross-contamination.

• If we provide the cake, we confirm all ingredients with the baker before the session.

• We recommend doing a small "cake test" at home before the session to ensure your baby has no reactions.

What if my baby has an allergic reaction during the session?

If your baby shows any signs of a reaction (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing), we will stop the session immediately. Parents should have any necessary medications (such as antihistamines or an EpiPen) on hand if needed.

Do you use any props or decorations that may trigger allergies?

Some decorations (such as latex balloons) may cause allergies in sensitive children. If your baby has any non-food allergies, please let us know in advance so we can adjust the setup accordingly.

Preparation & Setup

How do I choose the outfit for my baby’s Cake Smash?

Once in the studio the day of the session. We count with plenty of options for almost any theme. The sizes are from 6-12 and 12-18. For cake smash these are included.

If you are booking a Kid’s Birthday session (not cake smash), outfits are not included and parents must bring them. We do have minimal options for 2-3yo girls which we rent for $25, unfortunately not yet for bigger boys.

What if my baby doesn’t like the cake?

Some babies love the cake, while others might be hesitant. We encourage play with small spoons or fingers and use tricks to keep them engaged. Bringing a favorite snack can help ease them into it.

Can we include family or sibling photos?

To ensure the best experience for the baby, I focus solely on individual portraits during the session, as babies can become tired or overstimulated with additional setups.

At this time, I do not include family or sibling photos in these sessions. I appreciate your understanding and am happy to recommend a separate session for family portraits if you're interested!

I need to bring a cake?

We provide it and we ensure it's baby-friendly and matches the theme. You can also bring your own cake if preferred. Our delicious cake is made by our local bakery with vanilla flavor and Dulce de Leche filling. It’s really good!

If your baby has allergies or any other food restrictions, please let us know immediately. Please know that egg, nut, dairy free cakes, vegan cakes or any other variation may have an extra $70 charge, since we use other Vegan bakery services to accommodate this special orders. Parents also are more than welcome to bring their own cake (this option does not changes the session price).

What should I bring to the session?

• A change of clothes for the baby (and possibly yourself!)

• A small snack and drink for the baby

• A towel and wipes for clean-up

• Any special props or sentimental items you'd like included

Do you provide outfits, or should we bring our own?

We have a selection of outfits available for 12M babies, but you’re welcome to bring your own to personalize the session. For Kid’s 2 years and up, parents should bring the outfits. We do have a few dresses (limited) for bigger girls for rent ($25). Please contact us via IG or email for details.

Booking, reschedule & cancellations

15. How do I book a session?

You can book by contacting us via our website. A 30% deposit is required to secure your session date.

17. What if I need to reschedule or Cancel my appointment?

• Rescheduling 48+ hours in advance: No fee; we will work with you to find a new date.

• Rescheduling less than 48 hours before the session: A $40 reschedule fee may apply, as we reserve time and set up specifically for your session.

• Same-day cancellations/no-shows: A reschedule fee or deposit forfeiture may apply.

18. What if my baby is sick on the day of the session?

If your little one isn’t feeling well, we can reschedule at no extra charge one time courtesy.
